zoujingyuan

Zou Jingyuan breaks 16! Perfect routine, just one foot shift on the landing.

Cute leo from Bianca Frysak from Austria. It’s still bizarre hearing a saxophone blare out Careless Whisper for a FX routine.

careless whisper

Damnit, that was the best floor routine I’ve ever seen from Zhang Jin, nailed the first two passes cold, then fell forward on the double pike.

China veterans have looked amazing here. I wonder what will the teams will look like for Asian Games and Worlds.
Asian Games is the priority correct?

Asian Games is the priority for MAG because they’re already qualified to the Olympics.

WAG has to split things up a bit because they need to be top 8 at Worlds but also want to win Asian Games. The veterans brought back to train for Universiade will stay training at the NTC until September, so they’ll have the extra athletes to choose from.

Ou Yushan goes home with 4 golds: Team, AA, BB, FX

Luo Huan has gold team, silver AA, bronze UB, silver BB

Du Siyu gold team, gold UB

Zhang Jin and Wei Xiaoyuan bring home golds from the team.

This was Ou Yushan’s games. Not a single missed routine from her.

We finally see the American men in this final, Fred Richard and Taylor Christopulos live in the HB final now.

And Fred is off on the Tkachev.

And now Taylor fell on a Tkachev as well. So no medals for USA at this competition.

Milad Karimi next up, his grip breaks in half on the bar and he’s off lol this final is cursed. No falls in the BB final has put a hex on HB.

I would send this Universiade team to Worlds, they would easily qualify to Paris. They were super consistent here, which is exactly what they need. A China A+ team can compete with the US, it is just a matter of hitting their sets (and figuring out vault).

Great routine from Sugimoto Kaito.

14.233

Dominic Tamsel, brought into this final to replace Zhang Boheng, great routine! 13.766

Awwww big routine from Kawakami Shohei, until he lost his swing at the end and had to struggle to power back up to a handstand. 13.7

Shi Cong up next then Milad Karimi gets to go again.

The crowd here is great, massive reactions to every big move.

14.6 for Shi Cong, he’s into the lead!

Huge routine from Karimi, and the crowd loves it even though he could pass Shi Cong. He qualified with a 14.8
