I used to be so into watching men’s gymnastics around the Paul Hamm era, 2000-2008, when there were quite a few guys on the team that were among the world’s best. I thought the 2004 AA was one of the craziest and most exciting men’s competitions I had ever seen, and easy to get excited about clean routines with the Perfect 10 format. It quickly changed for me after that, I find it hard to watch men’s gymnastics on a world stage because even if their routines look good, they always will fall short of a medal and they will walk out of the arena looking dejected. Makes it hard to watch. That’s just my take on it.
