TF first or last?

I'm not a fan I don't know why. I feel like the team goes out for glory first and foremost. Then the the individuals go all out for AA still very much for "the team". And then the individuals go all out for themselves in EF. It just sort of works for me that way round. It sort of steps down.

Personally, I liked it, though it's hard to say how much of that is influenced by the fact that we saw a particularly good competition at Euros.

For me, it would probably help me stay engaged through longer competitions. I tend to burn out by EFs (sitting on the couch is so very hard), but TFs are my favourite, so I don't think I'd miss them even if they were last.

I kind of like it too. It brings some swag going into the team competition, like "we have the EF champ up next on bars bitches," and it gives teams ample time to rest up for the team final. EFs often feel like an afterthought when they're last, but in this format, nothing feels like an afterthought

I've always felt the traditional order works best for me, in part because, admittedly, my attention span wanes over time, but fewer and better routines each round keeps me engaged.

Other than tradition I think the very practical nature of this is that these meets are successively smaller and smaller. What like ~40 gymnasts at a team final, 24 in AA, 16/day in EF.... The practical / economic side of this is that you can continuously release more gymnasts to go home earlier if they need to rather than having them stick around a foreign country incurring lodging costs, etc.

Conversely, for specialists from countries that aren't in the mix for team finals, they incur a ton of costs sitting around waiting between qualifications and event finals. They are often from smaller federations that aren't flush with money. Doing event finals so soon after qualifications is beneficial to them.
