How they've defined "Star" has always been somewhat loose. Jus picking some seasons at random:

Justina Machado (Actress)
Nelly (Rapper)

Kaitlyn Bristowe (Reality TV star)

A lot of washed up and never-have-been actors, actresses, and singers. More and more reality stars. Athletes who are either past their playing days or capitalizing on Olympic success. A handful of models. The occasional politician.

As a Brit I understandably recognise even fewer of those. Though as a child of the 90s I’m excited to look up how Melissa Joan Hart got on.

I feel like Anna Delvey should not be considered a “star”. Just saying.
You are absolutely right. I honestly just can not stand this show. They have had a long list of major zeros and "stars" no one ever heard of but having a convicted felon on the show as a "star' is admittedly a new low even for DWTS.

I didn’t realize his eyesight was this bad. He says doesn’t have a driver’s license and doesn’t drive because his eyes are so sensitive to the sun that he can’t see anything in the sun, and he also has no depth perception.

Week 8: Semi-Finals

There's no goofy challenge this week, everyone just did two dances.

First Dance: Cha Cha
Score: 8, 8, 9 - 25
Judges remarks: They didn't like it. They complained about his hip placements, said his feet were wrong, and that his musicality got worse.

Cha Cha to “Bailar” by Deorro featuring Elvis Crespo

Second Dance: Tango
This is the first dance he did keeping his glasses on. They got knocked askew right off the bat and eventually fell off his face entirely in the middle of the dance.
Score: 10, 9, 9 - 28
Judges remarks: This one they really liked. There was a lot of talk about him continuing the dance and not missing a beat after his glasses went sideways. Stephen said this is why he usually dances without them. They said he was impressive and performed a successful Tango.

Final Results
1. Chandler Kinney - 58
1. Joey Graziadei - 58
3. Ilona Maher - 57
4. Danny Amendola - 54
5. Stephen Nedoroscik - 53

They did a whole dramatic thing at the end where they had all five couples standing on the floor while they announced who was going on to the finale and who was going to be eliminated. They announced Chandler/Joey/Danny as safe and said it was down to Ilona and Stephen. Dragging it out, Rylee looked like she was already crying, everyone's stressed.. and then they say no one is eliminated and all five couples go to the finale.

It was ridiculous. Apparently they pulled this last season too.

All scores and votes from tonight will carry over to the 3 hour finale next Tuesday.

If you want to vote for Nedoroscik in the finale (it’s airing live now,) text the word “Stephen” to 21523. You can vote up to ten times per couple.

You can also vote up to 10 times online at dwtsvote.abc.com, but it will ask you to create a login.

He’s going to need the help tonight.

Week 9 - The Finale

First 30 minutes was a waste of time a recap of everyone's dances from earlier in the season with the judges narrating. This really didn't need to be a three hour show.

Everyone is doing two dances tonight, first a "redemption" dance chosen by the judges then a freestyle where I guess you just do whatever you want.

Bruno chose for Nedoroscik to redo the quickstep. Said the first time he danced it his timing was off and his musicality was bad.
Score: 10, 9, 10 - 29
Judges remarks: They all loved it. Derek: "You're both just a ray of sunshine, it's like two little anti-depressants dancing across the floor" Carrie Ann said Len Goodman would be smiling to see that dance. Bruno said his timing is so good now he's turning into a Rolex.

Quickstep to "I'll be there for you" by The Rembrandts

The 10's are flowing like it's 1988. Chandler and Joey both scored perfect 30s. Since scores carry over from last week, after the redemption dances Stephen only moved up from 5th to 4th, ahead of Danny the football guy.

For the freestyle.. a beautiful ode to men's gymnastics. Featuring Riley Loos, Jeremy Bischoff, and Brandon Nguyen from Stanford.
Score: 10, 10, 10 - a perfect 30
Judges remarks: They all loved it. I can't even remember what they said, I was getting emotional. It was the perfect ending.

Tonight's Scores
1. Chandler Kinney - 60
2. Stephen Nedoroscik - 59
2. Joey Graziadei - 59
4. Ilona Maher - 57
5. Danny Amendola - 56

Total Combined Scores last week + this week
1. Chandler Kinney - 118
2. Joey Graziadei - 117
3. Ilona Maher - 114
4. Stephen Nedoroscik - 112
5. Danny Amendola - 110

They just announced that Stephen Nedoroscik will be co-hosting the DWTS Tour. Looking at the dates it runs from January 7th to April 5th. So Winter Cup is definitely out and it will be tight to even be ready for Nationals if he isn't training gymnastics at all from August to April. 2025 Worlds may not be in the cards.

That was really really beautiful. That's how I'd like to see the tour type dance performances look.
And he can't see! I cannot even. I'm sick in bed right now, so without my specs. I can't imagine trying to be an amazing dancer on stage like this.

I recommend looking up Chris McCausland’s performances from the current Strictly Come Dancing series. Chris has been blind since his early 20s. I’ve enjoyed his panel show appearances so I’ve been keeping up with his dances on YT (I cannot endure the entire prog!) and I’ve been so impressed.
