These are just off the top of my head. I am sure I am missing more. Canada sends a ton of NCAA gymnasts, many of whom attend lower ranked D1 teams or D2/D3 teams, especially those along the border.

It is surprising given the language barrier shouldn't be a challenge.

A few have: Lynn Silcock, Olivia Vivian, Shona Morgan, Maddie Leydin, Talia Folino are a few that have gone the NCAA route.

Distance maybe? If they choose pretty much any school that isn't in California, that's one hell of a journey just to visit home. Even then, a nonstop from LA to Sydney or Melbourne is 16 hours.

I would imagine there is a cultural divide too great for some. It has been reported that others couldn't pursue NCAA due to their school subject choices not meeting basic US requirements.

I think that was the case with Chloe Sims unfortunately.
Jo Hughes also did NCAA in the late 90s.
Another reason is financial. The Australian dollar to USD isn’t good exchange. If family back in Aus is paying living expenses, travel etc it can be expensive.

@Matilda23 I didn't realize Jo Hughes competed in the NCAA! Wow. Went down the rabbit hole and realized she competed at Call State Fullerton.
