To me, this is completely unethical and an abdication of responsibility.
Remember that lame situation at Worlds where Malone got no credit during qualifications for being just a little pikey in his full twisting Jaeger on high bar? That rule has been improved a little, but still bad. It gets D value and a 0.3 deduction. rolling eyes. At least it can get connection bonus. But why are we making such specific rules. Put a piked Jaeger full in the code as a D and give it that value and call it a day.

In the previous Code Art 5.1.c highlighted that “when in doubt, give the benefit of that doubt to the gymnast”. This often led to inaccurate and therefore unfair scores. Judges are being directed that, if in doubt, not to give recognition and to leave the opportunity for coaches to inquire.
