Whilst I do not rate Marc on a personal level (it’s all about him and never his athlete) he is a gifted technical coach who much more open and cordial with parents than most elite coaches would be. In a sense he exploited Kaylia’s situation to further his ongoing feud with the federation that’s been around since he had Yuna. This is just my opinion, I’ve no idea why Kaylia decided to leave.

However, the situation has to me the makings of a turbulent time and much readjusting and I would be concerned that she will never be again as good as she was last year, especially in AA

The Olympic champion on uneven bars will now be coached by Nadia Massé, a renowned figure in the French gymnastics world, to continue her rise to the highest level.

The announcement of her departure from her club, Avoine-Beaumont, a few days ago caused a real tidal wave and prompted a multitude of questions. While Le Parisien subsequently announced that Kaylia Nemour would now train in Dijon, the Algerian Olympic Committee officially presented its new coach on Monday, May 19, via a press release published on Facebook.

It is with Nadia Massé, an experienced coach who has worked at the Dijon center and club and has also worked closely for several years with the Algerian Gymnastics Federation, that Kaylia Nemour, a Franco-Algerian gymnast who has been competing for Algeria since 2023, has chosen to continue her career in this new Olympic cycle with the Los Angeles Games in her sights. A duo who have already worked together since Nadia Massé was the gymnast's choreographer in recent years, allowing Kaylia to reach a new level in artistic terms.

A considered choice, formulated with the Algerian Gymnastics Federation and the Algerian Olympic Committee, and looking to the future with a desire to develop its programs, the new code of points giving an important place to the artistic, and the desire to enhance its technical baggage acquired throughout its years of training in Avoine by adding an even stronger artistic dimension.

A supported and accompanied arrival
In order to welcome her in the best possible conditions, the president of the Dijon club Astrid Korn and the municipality of Dijon have been actively mobilizing for several days to welcome the gymnast in the best possible conditions. Development and renovation of infrastructure, technical and logistical support, setting up an environment conducive to high performance: everything is being done so that Kaylia can flourish and fully concentrate on her sporting goals, with the first major deadline being the world championships in Jakarta next November.

“We are working hand in hand with the municipality to welcome Kaylia in the best possible conditions in a motivating and inspiring environment,” explained Astrid Korn, the president of ADG21, contacted this Monday morning. And to add: “We have had a high-level culture for many years with several gymnasts (Marine Debauve, Marine Petit, Sofia Serseri, Célia Serber, Soraya Chaouch, Pauline Morel, Editor’s note) who have represented France in the biggest international competitions . The objective is to allow Kaylia to continue to flourish in her practice of gymnastics and to lead her to the Los Angeles Games.”

A New Career Chapter
A few months after her Olympic victory and years of training at the Avoine-Beaumont club alongside Marc and Gina Chirilcenco, the gymnast expressed her desire for change.

"She expressed the need for a change of scenery, a change of environment," confided Marc Chirilcenco, her former coach, in an interview with La Nouvelle République . A need for renewal then confirmed by a press release published by the Algerian Gymnastics Federation, which is supporting Kaylia in this transition:

"Determined to write a new page in its history, and fully aware of the demands involved in Olympic preparation, it has chosen to embark on a new dynamic. This decision, which has been carefully considered, reflects its constant desire to reinvent itself and prepare as best it can to take on, once again, the immense challenge that an Olympiad represents."

"Like many gymnasts competing in several Olympic cycles, Kaylia feels the need to bring renewal to her environment, in order to draw on new resources to approach this Olympic cycle in the best possible conditions."

A new path that the Olympic champion is preparing to take, fully committed to her goals and guided by the same passion.
