Let’s do my RUSADA homework together

Every year, before the end of the year, every sports coach, sports doctor, practitioner etc has to renew their certification with RUSADA. It’s not my favourite thing to do, so I tend to complete it in small chunks. So I thought it might be interesting if I turned on the translator and posted it here for you all to see. And of course, show everyone how anti doping is taken very seriously and that fair play and sportsmanship are at the heart of sports culture in Russia.

It might be very boring, but at least you can all be bored with me.

So first up here is the online learning home page

Next we have to update all the details including our federal district and sports federation.

There is an overview of what the course covers, and it sets out the federal laws regarding doping in sports. The first section I won’t bore you with, it most covers what WADA and RUSADA do etc.

Let’s do some more online learning. There is a man in a cosy sweater, warning us about strict liability. As well as all coaches, all athletes over the age of 14 have to complete this course. There is an additional course for athletes in the testing pool and a separate children’s course for 10-13 year olds.

Ok so this bit is quite interesting, it explains about therapeutic use exceptions. There is also a testing service run by RUSADA which allows drugs to be submit for testing to see if it’s permitted for your specific sport.
The next section, we have to complete a quiz. So make sure you’ve read through everything very carefully because you’ll regret skim reading when one day your teenage figure skating prodigy gets stripped of gold.
