Starting a thread to talk about leotards this week.

Chellsie brought back the flame design from 2004.

I always loved the flame leos and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Love that she brought it back in a modern way (even if it is pink)

ETA: Oh, I get it, pink cuz it was Wednesday. Works for me!

It’s an homage to one of Cecile’s old leos from the 90s.

A while back some old images/footage of Cecile competing was going around the gymternet and Simone said she wanted a recreation of the leo.

I’m neutral on the design, but I think it’s cute of the WCC girls to honor her.

Neither do I. That WCC training leo reminds me of a box of crayons or something. Nice homage to Cecile’s leo, but I don’t like hers either. Meh.

Yeah, I think Cecile’s was ugly and this new one is an improvment. It’s not great, but I don’t hate it. It’s nice to see something besides endless sparklies and weird mesh, as mentioned.

While I continue to long for the days of actual simple, sporty, athletic leotards, that 90s homage is far less offensive to me than most leos these days.

Which is not to say I love it at all.

I really hope that a future code prohibits cut outs and bling. It is so overly distracting and takes away from the gymnastics.
