That would be great for her.

The way the sport is going, she could do 4 years of college and then go back to elite if she still has the desire and the health (or improved desire and health). The college athletes look more polished and ready than a good portion of the elites.

She could start fall 2023. She graduates high school this year, but deferred to fall 2024 because of the Olympics.

I don’t know what LSU’s scholarship situation for 2023-2024 loks like, or even there’s even one open for Konnor if she were to decide to come early.

If she stated that she would come to LSU on time and not defer like the original plan, I GUARANTEE you Jay Clark would find a scholarship for her.
We also don’t know what Finnegan plans to do in terms of deferring. She had intended to work toward trying to qualify to Paris.

The caption is “it’s just a tiktok” so who knows. She might not have fully decided yet and just thought the song lyrics fit how she’s feeling. We don’t know how injury rehab is going either which will probably play a big role.

Yeah that’s more than a hint!

LSU has a very good chance at winning a team title next season as they are losing very little routines from seniors.
Just Kai Rivers on beam, and she was out for half the season.
Shchenikova was an all arounder this year, and no COVID year announcement, but McClain going to LSU along with Amari Drayton and Kiya Johnson being back would reinforce a championship run team.
If Shchenikova takes her COVID year with LSU they lose 0 routines from their post season and National championship roster.

I really don’t get why Konnor has moved to the west coast just to then go to LSU in summer?

No idea. It could be something to do with her living situation. Like maybe they were paying for an apartment in Texas to go to WOGA for elite but if she isn’t doing elite it would save her money to train lvl10 wherever until August. She had problems with her home gym so maybe she has family members living near Pacific Reign she can stay with for a couple months. I don’t know who she was living with in Texas.

Or she’s trolling us all and will show up at Classics with Pacific Reign lol.

Yeah, for everyone saying it makes no sense for her to change gyms again if she’s leaving elite, she may very well be ‘homeless’ in terms of a gymnastics club for this stopover period, if she ended with bad blood at WOGA and/or had no reason to remain in the dull suburbs of Dallas.

I’ll admit I was hoping she would be young upstart on Team Paris, but I’m glad to have finally become a NCAA fan in the past season so I’ll look forward to her hopefully killing it with her superb technique (especially on beam).

Young upstart was already probably off the table – after all, she was eligible to compete in Tokyo and she’s now also been to Worlds in 2021 – but I was also hoping to see what she could finally put together as an all-arounder on the world stage. The core team is looking so strong that I don’t really see it happening anymore, but stranger things have happened. Hezly Rivera seems to be gunning for the young upstart role for Paris IMO, but she’ll have to become way more consistent.

She’s scheduled to attend the next camp (Pan Ams/National Team selection), so I guess she’s not done done yet.
