Next season they have elite Kaylen Morgen who’s capable of bringing Wojcik/Brooks freshman season realness plus a L10 national champion in Paige Thaxton, as well as two other solid L10 recruits.Anybody know how competitive Michigan’s line ups look to be next year off the top of their head? How much talent are they losing?
If they get Carly Bauman to pre-achilles tear level and Vore on the leg events, they shouldn’t be in too bad a spot even if Heiskell/Wojcik decline a 5th year. Especially if Koulos figures out how to hit BB and returns to UB/FX like 2021, I think a 1st seed shouldn’t be much of a challenge for this team. Injuries and keeping their entire roster healthy is probably a bigger concern than having the routine quality/lineup depth to be a 198 team.
UGA needs to find a coach who can do for them what the Santos’ have done at ASU. There’s no shortcut to rebuilding a program to that level.
Bama’s been recruiting quite well despite LSU/UF taking most of the big name elites. I think Bama has realized the elites who are happy to just make it to US nationals are a good recruiting pool since their bodies are usually less ravaged from elite and they still have big enough skills to standout in lineups. Getting Blanco in 2020 was huge for them. 24’ recruit Lily Smith has a toepoint that would make Pod jealous. She’s gotten 10s on bars in JO, as has Chloe LaCoursiere whose in the same class. Plus they have elites Lauren Little/Karis German and 19’ NLC junior champion Gabby Gladieux coming in next year. Their future is bright which is not something I thought I’d be saying rn a couple seasons ago.
