WAIS was a successful program in Australia with Lauren Mitchell, Daria Joura, Emily Little, Olivia Vivian. Martine George coached at WAIS with several ex-Russian coaches.
There has been allegations of abuse at WAIS, the government has apologised, and offered acknowledgement payments and counselling to some gymnasts.

yeah not really the look BG need.

"We are looking forward to benefitting from a way of working that Gary will bring that will prioritise the contribution of our gymnasts and coaches to collectively deliver uplifting experiences and successful performance outcomes."

I'd imagine that delivering uplifting experiences is the absolute minimum expected of a trampoline coach.

“Martine has an extensive and decorated international career, most recently leading the French National Team to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

Yes, because that was a real success on just about every level…
Were they desperate or something? Because otherwise, if the goal is to get BG to being regular medal contenders, I wouldn't bring somebody whose entire team imploded at a home Olympics and failed to get even one gymnast beyond qualifications.

The only logical explanation I can think of is that BG being BG wanted to make the selection process very athlete centred and perhaps she was the choice most favoured by national team athletes. But I can also see her having been the only candidate

I mean really that entire statement could be applied to the Karolyis and the ranch.

yeah I heard no other candidates......... and yes almost hilarious the way they have tried to big up her involvement with the French Olympic disaster at their home games. Only my heart is breaking cos I know it's going to be a shitshow.

Yeah I heard the only candidate and they were desperate after 9 months without anyone.

Six months between competitions probably is a break by her standards, especially when she's not had surgery. BG normally have her at nigh on everything. I think she got less time than that between her post Tokyo surgery and doing AA in early 2022.

The poster on reddit who mentioned Alice said in a podcast she was taking her foot off the pedal relayed that before the change in worlds format. I wonder if that might change anyone's plans.

Also, do people want a specific English champs thread or shall we do it on here? Since we're doing annual threads now maybe it won't be too unwieldy.

Jen Gadirova competed towards the end of 2024, where she got a 7.soemthing on bars. Does anyone recall what the competition was?

British teams. Some discussion and videos below

If you scroll down the Jen Gadirova thread her ub routine is there - it scored in the 7s - started OK but the 4 falls and watered down dismount did not help. Might be a useful routine - if - she can hit

Don't know why it shows half the thread when I did a link!

It'll be particularly interesting to see Jess. We'd thought from her recent posts that she might take it slow for this year. Perhaps she won't do all events.
