All three of the big Aylesbury gymnasts have have ACL injuries over the last 18 months šŸ˜¢

Molly and Josh are ā€œinternet coachesā€. Most of their coaching is copying what they see online. For a lot of things, it has served them well. But despite being very successful, what they are doing remains quite experimental. My personal opinion is that the initial injuries that sidelined Jen and Jess were the result of poor growth spurt management

Ugh, gutted. Poor Jen. It's such a shame when she was so close to being back. Her beam, at least, was ready months ago. Based on what we saw last year, she was a potential finalist at Euros.

Much as I'd love to eat my words, and I really really really would, can't help wondering if this is going to be one of the situations where an athlete just isn't physically able to do elite gymnastics any more.

I have the same feeling. Her motivation must be so battered after everything. At this point I would be (pleasantly) shocked to see her return.
Maybe resting a year and then going for the olympics might not be a bad thing. It is so early in the quad that she has plenty of time to come back to the top

Yeah. The twins have been around for ages so it's easy to forget they're still only 20. If you're going to suffer an injury like this, there are certainly worse times to do it.

The 20-year-old injured her knee "performing a basic skill" at a national squad camp.

Gadirova won Olympic bronze after finishing third in the team event at Tokyo 2020, but missed out on Paris 2024 with an ankle injury.

Her twin sister Jessica also missed the Paris Olympics after tearing her ACL nine months before the start of the games.

"Having learnt so much from Jess's journey we'd of course taken so many precautionary measures in my preparations," Jennifer wrote on Instagram.

"My strength and landing stability results were really strong, so for this to happen was a complete shock and so unfortunate."

She added: "This does not change my LA 2028 plans; it's the start of the cycle, and it's not just about how you start, but how you continue to grow and finish it."

Gadirova won silver medals in the team event at both the World and European Championships in 2022

That's the one saving grace about thus situation. If it weren't for all the previous, it'd be one of those where you're sad for them but think see you next year.
