The prices are wild. So much more expensive than Paris.

From a friend of a friend. I am very conflicted about going to the US right now but I did register to give myself the option.

The big events in America always have exorbitant prices. Those prices are similar to what the tennis US Open men's final day costs. I can handle high ticket prices. But I can't justify traveling cross continent to visit a city filled with sad residents.

That's absolutely insane. I guess they only want the Olympics to be for the elite. I was looking at the prices for men's basketball NCAAs (because Illinois made the Final Four) and it's more expensive per event than Paris was, at least with the resales anyways. Why is it that sports are so expensive here in the US? It's stupid. I'm so ridiculously glad I went to Paris now.

I would have liked to see rhythmic gymnastics' return to Los Angeles in person. LA's location is inconvenient for me. But the games will attract RG fans from Mexico and the western USA.

I didn't get a timeslot yet, but someone I know who did just got tickets for between $20 and $350 ($350 being the final for a major sport). They didn't look for gymnastics tickets, but it seems like a lot of the tickets are pretty affordable actually.

Someone posted onilne that they got prelim rounds of gymnastics for $250 a seat. I've always wanted to go to the Olympics but I don't think it will be a manifested dream this time. Like, how do you even know what session to buy? You could be paying $250 to watch a bunch of randos compete (which, I wouldn't mind doing, just not sure I would want to pay $250. Unless you get the whole day of qualis with one ticket or are they per session? I haven't gotten my slot in the lottery so, yeah, flying by the seat of my pants if I do get a spot) Maybe splurge on one big event and then try to get some archery tickets or something. Or go for Olympic Trials again.
:p
