Austria's Daniel Tschofenig disqualified from event for wearing oversized boots

Austrian ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig is disqualified from the men's large hill individual event for wearing oversized boots.

As far as I understand it penisgate is hypothetical - no one is admitting to actually trying this - although it was a rumour circulating in Germany. I guess the 4 year press jumped on it - especially after "crotch gate" last year where a Norwegian assistent coach stretched the crotch area of the ski jumping suits....

Ski jumping has been very hot on equipment violations this year - there are usually several DQs per competition weekend - usually for clothing size such as the suit being 1mm-4mm too big or in the case of Tschofenig wearing ski boots that were 4 mm too large.

There are also many ways of getting DQ'd in Biathlon

• dropping ammo
