Also it is WILD that the current World 3rd place champion on vault is not even in the line up for Arkansas on that event.

Elite vs. NCAA vault is such a weird thing in general. No one attempts to stick in elite anymore, everything is scrappy and chucked... I can't stand NCAA routines for the most part on other events, but vault is such a breath of fresh air. Good technique on display, attention to basics, etc

I wondered if they were protecting her ankle, but I see she's doing floor. But her vault scores were pretty meh last year. Only scored 9.9 once, and her scores was the dropped score at multiple meets.

Let's be honest, she the current world vault bronze medalist because everything that could go wrong at 2025 worlds on vault went wrong and she somehow was one of the last 3 left standing. Go for her, but she's got to be the weakest vault medalist in a looooooooong time.

Yeah that was a pretty niche set of circumstances. Though fair fucks to her of course, she can only beat what's there.

Or, perhaps more realistically, just stuck to the Lopez. Even in the context of a weak field it's incredible how much went wrong, over multiple rounds. I have to give a mention to Navas here too.

Wild to see Georgia in 5th and Alabama in 3rd. What is this 2008??

SEC dominance. 8 of the top 11 teams are from the SEC.

Utah in 12th, Cal in 20th, Michigan State in 21st, Oregon State 26th, Illinois 41st, Kentucky in 39th, Arizona 44th are shockers in a bad way. Iowa State in 56th is no bueno.

Shockers in a good way: UGA 5th, Bama 3rd, UNC in 13th, Texas Women's in 27th, Pitt 30th, SJS 31st

We are definitely going to see some upsets by the end of the season with the new format for NQS. I wonder if some teams are feeling that pressure since essentially almost every meet counts.
