Her AA from last year's Jr. Worlds is on YouTube:Can you show me a video of Jiang that shows similar quality to Ke? All I've seen from her is very junior in terms of skill selection (but great execution).
This girl is getting criminally underscored over and over again. I just don't get it.
We are in the same boat. I've tried so hard not to get invested, but it's futile. I'm prepared to deal with the consequences. She's so exquisite. I haven't been this excited about a gymnast in ages. Surely only good things will come of this for me.
Wasn't her E-score 7.766? Sadly I had it at 7.5, with all the crazy deductions that are being forced for "slow connection" and things like moving her foot before dismounting. Even that totally innocuous and good-looking step after the mount could be considered a "step without choreography" deduction. Really sucks what the WTC has done to the sport.I just don't get it. She had 0.5 for the wobble on the acro series and 0.3 for the step on the dismount. But a low 7? I am just not seeing how you can make up almost 2 points on pauses, rhythm and artistry.
Yeah, that was 7.766 and I had it close at 7.9 this way. I markedfor five additional "deductions" that miserable judges might take but that I did not take.
======
- Front HS, shoulder angle/lack of flight, bent leg -0.2
- front tuck 173 different wobbles + extra steps -0.8
- front aerial excessive preparation -0.1
- Split ring jump -0.1 body shape, not because I agree with it, but because the WTC are jerks.
- Korbut, she bends her arms and almost crashes down. -0.3
- switch split ring excessive preparation — it's noticeable because she sort of "breaks character" from being super controlled to suddenly a bit relaxed. -0.1
- Rhythm of connection into the stag ring jump -0.1
- pause/preparation before the side aerial -0.1
- split jump — not horizontal (front leg lower) -0.1 Again, this is stupid. But that's the world we live in now with Donatella Sacchi.
- full spin, overturned (precision) -0.1, balance check -0.1
- break in character/preparation before dismount -0.1
- Dismount step -0.3 (we can't see if her feet are flexed in the air)
- disconnected elements & movement -0.1 though I feel like this is a double hit for some of the pause/preparation deductions.
BTW, here's what I feel the scoring really should be, in a world with fairer rules and 0.2 deductions.
E-score: 8.2. But possibly over 9 if she hit better.
- Front HS, shoulder angle/lack of flight, bent leg -0.2

- lack of creativity / signature -0.1 — not a deduction anymore, but I think it should be. She does nothing original
Yes, but that's not even my issue. It's just that she crashes down.Is it possible to do a Korbut without bending your arms?
