Already a large number in the pool. Iowa State discontinuing the program is largely for that.
Very happy to see that NCAA granted the entire Iowa State team an additional year of eligibility to make up for this season.

Serious question— Arel Posen is in portal. She medically retired after her freshman year. When you medically retire your scholarship is still being honored…so those 3yrs of retirement go against her years of eligibility correct?…assuming she had stayed in school. So what eligibility does she have left?

A number of big names in the portal lately - Molly Brinkman, Nyla Morabito, Ava Piedrahita, Rylee Guevara, and Nicole King off the top of my head, and I know there are quite a few more. CC Cooley just announced her transfer to UNC yesterday.

I wonder if Molly Brinkman will go back to Clemson given she was originally committed to them.

CC Cooley got picked up by UNC. Her and Seabrooks will be a strong 1-2 on floor for them next year.

I could see Piedrahíta and Guevara at a lower tier SEC team, but I can't find the spreadsheet with each teams roster size, so I'm just guessing based on vibes. Mizzou loves transfers though.

Rylee Guevara would be a great get for any team. She has been super consistent on BB and FX. I believe she has not had more than one fall on BB and FX in 2 years and has competed on both of those events for Ohio State in every single meet.

Selfishly, I hope to see some athletes transfer to teams outside the top 10 where there chances of regularly competing are much higher.
Agreed! A perfect example of what happens to a gymnast when then go from a 10-20 level team to a 1-10 is Madison Ulrich, (from Denver to LSU). She goes from competing the AA in nearly every meet for 2 years as a very solid gymnast (Ranked 22nd in the country in '24 and 29th in '25) to basically a UB specialist.
