China held an internal test about 10 days ago. Zhang Yihan won the AA, followed by Tian Zhuofan, Zhang Kexin, and Qin Xinyi. Deng Yalan won V, Tian Zhuofan won UB, Zhou Yaqin won BB, and Zhang Yihan won FX. They'll have another verification in early September.
Any news on Qiu Qiyuan? Is she still recovering from the (I think) elbow injury?

When is the US selection camp?

At the absolute last minute, Sept 29-Oct 2.

Official arrival day for delegations at World Championships is Oct. 14th.

They’re probably going to make everyone who goes to camp pack for an entire month, pick the team, train a day or two at camp, and then leave straight from there to Asia to train nearby until they can move to the designated Worlds hotels and training gyms.

They’ll leave Jakarta to go home October 26th. A month long trip.

Right at the start of the school year, too.

Per the selection procedures, they'll be in Tokyo October 10-13 for training camp. I'm unclear if they'll be able to go home between selection camp that ends on October 2 and leaving for Tokyo.

Has Sabrina Voinea vaulted since the 24 Olympics?

I've had a look around and cannot see any VT scores for Sabrina since the Olympics where she was in the 13.6s for her DTY - which barely outscored Lilia Cosman's Y1½ that were getting 13.5s

At the Doha and Jesolo she just did the Rom special of bb and fx

However I presumed that she must still be training vt as she was on the start list for the team competition at 2025 Euros but eventually scratched - a pity for Rom as she would have only needed 13.3 to get Rom into team bronze

Any scores released or info on Zhang Qingying? I'd guess the team right now to be:

Zhang Qingying (AA, high chance of BB medal)
Zhang Yihan (AA, small chances for VT+UB+FX medals)
Zhou Yaqin (best in the world on BB, decent chance of FX medal)
Yang Fanyuwei (top 2 in the world on UB)

I'd really like to see Deng Yalan get to compete for the Vault title though. Zhang Yihan isn't in contention to win anything and would be lucky to win a single medal.

This is all I could dig up:

Zhang Qingying only competed BB at the first test.

AA
1. Zhang Yihan 53.5+
2. Tian Zhuofan 53.3+
3. Qin Xinyi 52.8+
4. Zhang Kexin 52.5+

Vault
1. Deng Yalan
Liu Jinru and Yu Linmin also did two vaults

UB
1. Tian Zhuofan 14+
2. Du Siyu 13.7+
3. Qin Xinyi 13.7+

Fell on UB: Yang Fanyuwei, Zhang Yihan, Zhang Kexin

BB
1. Zhou Yaqin 6.8 D, score 15+
2. Zhang Qingying 6.8 D
3. Zhang Kexin 14+

Qiu Qiyuan fell on new connection of side somi - side split jump 1/2

Zhang Yihan increased her D score on BB to 5+ (said elsewhere to be 5.2/5.4)

FX
1. Zhang Yihan 6.0 D
2. Zhou Yaqin

The second test on September 10th is the more important competition.

Tian Zhuofan was just here for funsies and doesn't count for the results. Ke Qinqin competed without counting too. They aren't part of the Worlds training squad.

Worlds Training Squad is Zhou Yaqin, Zhang Qingying, Qiu Qiyuan, Zhang Yihan, Du Siyu, Qin Xinyi, Zhang Kexin, Liu Jinru, Deng Yalan, Yu Linmin, and Yang Fanyuwei.

Here's some clips of isolated skills (ZQY on BB here)

Deng Yalan's vaults (she says Cheng Fei gave her the leotard)

Here's the full news report, nothing in here that isn't in the above videos but it's a wider view.

There was an instagram reel of the team's training in Leipzig and you could see Camelia standing by the vault and Sabrina walking down the runway

My theory is once she bombed her two individual events, she no longer cared about the team or the mixed final she wouldn't be making, and didn't vault. I think she should go back to the Tsuk full she did quite well at the 2024 Euros trials

Is there any chance of China factoring in the relative strength of the fields when choosing their team? Ie, does Andrade sitting out worlds help Deng Yalan's chances, since vault is now a much less competitive event than beam.

It's possible. If ever there were a year for China to send a V specialist, this is it. Liu Jinru should also be in the conversation because she won the event at Nationals.

I wouldn't bank on it, though. CGA's decisions tend to defy logic and common sense.
