Wow! Is Deng Yalan the oldest WAG to ever make a major China team?

Yes. She's 26 this year (b. 1999). Until now, the oldest was Luo Huan (b. 2000), who made the Tokyo team at age 24. Both gymnasts competed at 2012 Junior Nationals, along with Liu Jinru and a host of other incredible talents (most notably Liu Tingting and Fan Yilin).

Fun fact: No WAG from Yunnan province has ever represented China in a World or Olympic competition. This year's team includes two Yunnan natives--Yang Fanyuwei and Deng Yalan (who competes for Jiangxi province).
