I am baffled that someone pointing out that the winner of an event at this competition may have had her routine’s difficulty evaluation completely botched by the judges seems to be garnering no interest. Is it because Lew isn’t really in the mix for Worlds that people don’t really care?
Maybe because the silver medal routine of Simone Rose seemed overscored. It was untidy form-wise with several big leg separations.

Was Hezley Rivera coached by Maggie Haney for long or was it just a few months?

Hezly Rivera was at MG Elite with Haney for about a year when she was 11/12. She started gymnastics at ENA Paramus and trained there until elite (Hopes 2018 Classic.) She transferred to MG Elite in 2019, but only competed three meets as a level 10 with them in Winter 2020 before the Covid shut down. Then Haney was suspended and she moved to WOGA. She’s been at WOGA since 2021.

yes lol, scores were wild but I think we might be under-selling Rivera as a floor specialist at least for this year. My money is on her or Wong being the strongest on floor at Nationals and taking a Worlds spot as a specialist. (Extra points for Wong if she has two solid vaults.)
Yes, I watched her floor last when catching up and was surprised by how relatively good it looked. I'd seen the results but half wondered if it was intended as a standings bump for the Olympian, considering what a mess she looked on the other events. I don't think we can rule this out as a possibility.

Because it's Monday and apparently no one in my office is working today.....let's share routines!

Reese Esponda, floor (featuring barani-double tuck combo for the THIRD pass)

Ally Damelio rocking a Seitz on bars

Brooke Pierson just had a good day overall and I think her highest senior elite score ever

Sage Bradford doesn't have the difficuty, but her execution is lovely
