The new code was written for You Hao. And even though he just turned 33, he's sticking around to milk it!

As of January, guys now only need 8 skills instead of 10. So most guys dropped two C or D skills. He took out his Peach HS and Healy (Used to both be Ds, but Healy was dropped to C, which made sense).

But he gained back almost all of that — four of his release skills are double flips, and they all went up in value. He also got the stick bonus. So he lost 0.7 but gained 0.5.



I'd love to see him medal again at Worlds, one last time. Great gymnast.

I just got done watching the 22 Euros, and seeing Kim Bui's last comp always makes me tear up. I love seeing these "Past their Prime/Old Timers" continuing in the sport. The progress gymnastics has made in the last 30 years regarding when you're too old to compete is great for the sport.

I don't remember there every being a Chinese MAG to compete so long. Not even close, in fact.

Yet there's also Liu Yang. He's 31.

And Xiao Ruoteng is 29. Gosh, I feel like it was just a few years ago when he won the AA at Worlds and Uchimura's reign ended. Sheesh.
