Are they going to abandon French completely? Because Yurchenko is down as Iourtchenko on her athlete record!

I am fairly sure that they dropped the French language requirement for officials quite some time ago and now it is only English that is required. Although official documents are normally published in English and French as standard.

I hate it, but it looks like a number of other Olympic sports federations were already heading in the "World Sport" direction, so the FIG is just following suit.

I'm sort of indifferent to the change, but was it motivated just by the fact that the FIG dropped French? If so, that seems like a silly reason to do a full rebrand.

Didn't they run a survey on this, with only one plausible answer? They had at least one ridiculous alternative - Health and Wellbeing or something.

Personally, I think they should have gone with, World Peace and Universal Prosperity, but they have gone with the safe option.

Knowing the FIG, they'll spend a ton of money on research for the rebrand. And the end result will be "World Gymnastics" with a logo that looks like it was made in Kid Pix.
