If they were going to do anything with Mag 7 they should just make it a documentary. Take previous footage and add current interviews with the Mag 7.

Wow! It will be 30 years THIS July. I can remember it vividly, watching it "LIVE". Didn't have social media or internet to spoil the results. I didn't even get a home computer until 1998.
I remember it, too. I was at a summer institute for Southeast Asian languages, and I watched the WAG team final in a rec room with a dozen or so people from all over the world. I wasn't particularly invested in the outcome, but it was a welcome respite from my Khmer flashcards.

I was very cynical when Kerri vaulted. "Self-aggrandizing" was the first word that came to mind.

Wanting to make the AA final was the first thought that came to mind for me. Which is totally fair enough!

I've noticed that elsewhere on the gymternet, the narrative that the adults around Kerri were at fault for telling her the vault wasn't needed has become increasingly popular. I think because other spaces contain more people who are less likely to remember it happening, and to have watched the live footage if they did. So they don't know Russia still had two routines to go and that without Kerri's vault, the team title was still in play.

One can understand some backlash against the narrative that grew up around it all. But it's unfortunate that of all the things to legitimately criticise the coaches around that team for, some people choose not giving Kerri what would have been inaccurate information at that point.

Agreed on this. After the summary of Landing on My Feet that @QuietColours gave us, it's hard to imagine Strug not going for it, even if coaches had been telling her not to.
