Morgan Hurd and 2019

It just occurred to me how similar the trajectory of Bross and Hurd’s career was.

Of course, Hurd winning in 2017 was almost certainly down to Ragan’s injury; whereas Bross was more the favorite to win in 2009 and Sloan just happened to sneak in because of Becca’s miss on floor.

Both had a great “second year” of the Quad winning multiple AA and EF medals.

Both suffered with injuries in the third year, and dropped down to 2 events in the “Olympic” year. And neither made their respective team.

Becca never did NCAA so hopefully Morgan can finish her career on a more positive note.

What is Becca doing now?

She was working on her doctor of physical therapy degree last I knew.

Gymnastics wise, she’s coaching in Texas.

Bross just graduated from UT Southwestern with a doctorate in physical therapy this past December then got married the following weekend.

I wonder if she would ever want to work as a PT for USAG. Although I can’t imagine they pay very well compared to a private clinic in Texas.
