Hang has actually been flashing Vault # 5.21 (5.21.1 / Podkopayeva and 5.21.2 / fomerly Khorkina / 1/2 on to piked Cuervo).

I was basing my comment off of what she did at Winter Cup and the Antalya and Osijek World Cup events.

I would have to go back and check but in the team event, I am pretty sure she went for the Lopez and it got downgraded.
She didn't need the Lopez for the World Cup events or Winter Cup (she jusssst got blipped by Molomo by .zero 5 my zero stopped working on my keyboard.

They probably should prioritise other medals. The vault field is looking fairly strong at the moment.

Jayla Hang won the World Cup series on vault.
Karla Navas won Pan American Championships, Karina Schonmaier won Euros.
Zhang Yihan won Asian Championships.
Valentina Georgieva doesn't get the .2 bonus for different flights.

None of these are exceptionally strong vaulters.

Not sure if Andrade comes back this year.

Vault is wide open.

She's not competed yet this quad and I don't recall seeing any recent training videos. Not sure if there is a Brazilian nationals coming up.

The two best vaulters so far this year are from China and the 3rd best if she had managed to do her regular DTY in event final is Du Siyu. Will be interesting agonizing to see what shape all of the Chinese girls are in come selection time and who they will pick.

Why is everyone discounting Navas and Fontaine? They have the two best 2 vault scores in the world this year.

Navas has a Mustafina that has gone 14.6 which is also the best single vault score of the year.
