Watanabe aspires to host all-discipline world championships like World Aquatics'. That would be a good opportunity for an overall event based on rankings from all disciplines.

I can get behind this, though it would probably increase the number of competitors for gymnastics overall, which the IOC apparently does not want. For a world championship, though, would be great to experiment.

I would also love having more world cups with different formats like Swiss cup, Stuttgart team etc.

I would love for athletes from smaller feds to also have the option of doing team, if they are interested in that.

Yes, I agree, and that's why I said that if they wanted to do a mixed team event, the single-sex team events would probably have to be cut...

I forget, but is there a team event for swimming already at the Olympics? And is it based on the existing medal events or a separate competition, repeating the same events?
