Yes good for her hitting a routine after the disaster on bb and missing out on vt. Don't like the routine very much because of the lack of choreo/connection to the music

It will be interesting to see how Melnikova goes in bb final having qualified first .... a pity that she came off ub - but still is a reserve for the final.

..... and go Ireland! 2 qualifiers for bb final!
I hope Sabrina is getting absolutely killed on artistry deductions. There is absolutely zero content other than arm waving.

They need to put a straddled Yezhova into the code, so that there’s something to downgrade it to. It’s absolutely hideous.
Yeah, the straddle should absolutely be a C, given some of the other transitions that were given C's previously (there was that new skill from the AUS gymnast a few years back that I thought might get a D but they gave it a C - and this straddled Ezhova is no more difficult than that).

Yeah the arm wave, arm wave, pose is bringing back bad memories of some routines ca 2006 where everyone was trying to cram 6 tumbling passes into fx to boost the D score.

Have you scored her routine Doug? Because I thought she looked overscored in the final. Her first pass is great but she crumpled her second pass, had a low landing on her final pass and fell out of a spin.....

It's a new routine since Euros and she has ditched the 4th tumbling pass - which may be wise as she seemed to lack stamina to land 4 passes- but it looks odd as it means all of her tumbling is done by the one minute mark and the final third of the routine is arm flapping and attempted dance elements which makes the routine look unbalanced.

Has to be part of an "acro line", so basically she should plan to throw a quick roundoff into front tuck before her last actual acro line if she misses the double layout.
Do you mean front tuck into round off? I’m not sure she’s the gymnast I want to have to do an unexpected punch front walk out into her final pass

Could do it that way too. Personally I would find it more awkward though, trying to stick a roundoff like that, and if it's performed without a good snap (to try and control the landing) then I think judges would even start taking an amplitude deduction on the roundoff itself, when normally that's never a consideration.

If it’s round off front tuck on its own, she could just do round off Arabian? I’m sure it counts as a forward skill as a double Arabian does

Like Brooklyn Moors used to do with her roundoff back step out and Pauline Schafer with her flik, LSO.
Those were to fulfil the back tumbling though and planned into the routine.

Maybe a handspring front tuck would work for Sabrina. Could even do handspring front tuck into a leap to help disguise landing deduction.

Didn't they change the rules for this quad so that only double Arabians count as a forward element - did I read that somewhere? It did count last quad.

I hope that Sabrina trains some sort of escape route if she misses the punch front (although I doubt it). She lands the double double and the full in with chest down so I'm not sure that trying to punch out of either would work. Perhaps she could throw a tuck front before her final full in pass but given she takes such a run at her passes it would possible be a struggle.
