Maybe. She sefinitely has some of the better technique leaving the springboard. Most gymnasts are starting to tuck when their hands hit the table which kills their rotational moment arm; she stayed pretty well laid out. Her second salto started pretty low compared to the table. I'm going to say she needed more height. She was basically horizontal on her back at the level of the table.
If she trained the vault planning to land in a deep squat then take a big hop forward, maybe it could've happened. She probably wanted better, but realistically she was never going to come close to sticking. It was a legit strat to purposefully do that vault without any notion of good execution.
Oh yes, she was never going to land it upright like Prod. But she could have landed it like Dipa did.
Although - i’m not sure how much you actually save. Probably only 0.2 as 0.8 is the max landing deduction without a fall - and obviously Dipa was getting that.
