A reddit poster said GMF stated on instagram that she's not having an extended break and does intend to compete this year, but was tired. I couldn't see it, may have been a now disappeared story. The last person on there that I saw make an unsourced GB claim (Alice is having 2025 off) was right! It would also fit with her having been at Lilleshall a few weeks ago.

I hope she makes it back for Euros. It would be a great opportunity for her to get some hardware.

Yes it was on her Instagram stories.

It made me realize how old I am compared to these Gen Z gymnasts because she posted something like ‘I’m not retiring, girlypop is just tired’ and I sat there for ages wondering who/ what a girlypop was.

However I don’t think GMF will be able to be selected for Euros anyway as didn’t compete at any of the designated selection events.

I feel all modern now, because I know exactly what a girlypop is. The joy of having tweens in the house.

Re GMF, the selection policy also has a broad extenuating circumstances exemption for gymnasts who've not done a DSE, page 6.

It seems to be there for just this sort of thing. I'd imagine, especially in the current circumstances, that if GMF wanted to do Euros it would be invoked.

GB squad selection has been released. I’m glad that they didn’t stick to their original plan of only having 16 senior squad members with all the injuries. It’s also great to see that Ondine isn’t retiring Elite although I do wonder what her timeline is for coming back. Logistically the travel back and forth to California will make some things more challenging.

Also absolutely thrilled for Alia Leat.

Either someone at BG has muddled up Aylesbury Gymnastics Academy with the facility they use, or Lynx Gymnastics has taken a dramatic step up from its usual fare of recreational classes, soft play sessions and birthday parties.
Aylesbury was always known as Lynx Aylesbury. I don’t know when it changed, but when Samantha Gavrovsky was a national team member around 20 years ago, she was always listed as Lynx Aylesbury. But I don’t think I’ve seen it used before during the Gadirova era
