It’s 2 weeks till the British. Is there a start list up yet? I presume that all the athletes who are qualified via a home nations ranking already know if they are qualified otherwise hotels, travel and logistics must be super annoying for them.
They do know. Seniors has been harder to get into this year but Juniors has gone right down to scores of 41 to fill up the available places. That is a nonsense really. No one should be going to the British with a 41. They need to reduce the numbers of junors slightly and increase the numbers of seniors slightly. It's easily done - you move either the disability finals group or the aspire finals group from the Saturday Seniors and put them into the Friday Juniors sessions.

Yeah the juniors need to be down 48 like the seniors - it needs to be more competitive to make imo

Frances Stone has now been selected for DTB Pokal. If Tilly Wright is replacing Charlotte Booth, I wonder who Frances is replacing?

I was really hoping that Alia might get an international assignment pre Euros.

Maybe Mali? Unless someone else has pulled out.

It would be good for Alia to do an international comp as it’s a big jump when she’s been back at training less than a year

I remember her at Heathrow when she was very young. I’m really glad to see that she didn’t give up on the sport. She’s of the age group that Covid restrictions hit hardest.

Junior British 2019. Serious depth, serious talent

They’ve covered EF some years (definitely 2022 because I developed Covid in Liverpool and went home to spend a miserable day watching EF on TV when I had a ticket) but I don’t remember them showing the senior AA before.

The BBC are a year or so out from the charter renewal process starting again and with a Labour government in power are keen to demonstrate that their spending on sports broadcast rights isn't just for the benefit of blokes.

The problem is that unless you’re going to put it on terrestrial, or at least have a highlights show, then the only people watching are proper gym fans. They really should have something like the old Grandstand format on a Saturday afternoon, just with less of an emphasis on mainstream sports

That would be fun. Although half the kids who would be watching will be at training on a Saturday afternoon anyway...

Eurosport vanishing behind the TNT paywall has been a blow for all kinds of lower-profile sports.

I remember ITV's World of Sports used to show a random 30 mins gymnastic highlights every now and again before they got down to the serious business of Football, Rugby and Horse Racing - stuff like Scam Cup or the Russian Cup

In true GB style, a start list for the British isn’t available but they have a t shirt with (presumably) the names of the competitors. I can’t zoom in enough on my phone without it getting blurry, mind. Credit to Gad1rovaGB on Twitter for finding this one!
