Hey guys,

im trying to teach my athletes a gainer layout. Any ideas on how to train it? the tucked one is pretty save but we are not sure about the proper technique to get the rotation for a straight one.
Thanks!

Have you looked at a bunch of videos for inspiration. Here are two of my favorite gainer layouts.

Here's a drill done with the security of the floor

I like this mat set-up for low beam using panel mats only in certain spots.
(I am not totally convinced that the spotting is a good idea, but maybe...)

I trained my gymnasts to do the tucked version (this was 2002 so no one was doing the layout; the tuck was a hit at L9 states in Missouri lol) by doing a forward momentum back dive onto the end of the tumble track and rotating against the physics of that, ie training their torso to pull back from the forward motion that was generated by the previous movement.

I've also a had a weed gummy now so this may not make sense.
