As long as Australia qualifies to the Olympics, the Oceania AA spot will always go to New Zealand.

Australia looks good this cycle so getting a full team to LA looks promising.

May not need to be a full team to make them ineligible for the continental spot anyway. If Australia miss top 12, they'd very likely get a 13th-15th spot and an AAer from worlds, so that's 2. And they would have a decent chance of qualifying someone through the world cup EF route also. Those spots are assigned before the continental AAer ones from what I can see, so even without a full Australian team we would probably still have the Oceania problem.

It would probably wouldn't be worth it to bother. Being about to participate in the Asian Games + SE Asian Games are good events for the program with where it is at. Moving regions would take away more opportunities then it would provide.
