She's a 2007 like Amalia Ghigoarta, so I think she'd be 2027. AFAIK Romania has an extra year of school, which is why Lilia Cosman (who did American online school in Romania) is joining at the same time as Ana Barbosu who is a 2006.

Idk, I believe the whole Cecile thing is over-valued, although I understand the logic in assuming that. Sure, its nice if your coach can speak your native language, but you dont go to classes with them, make friends with them or do social events with them. But then again, maybe they were your first introduction to even doing college gymnastics, so I guess that could count for something

Aren't the Romanian girls who are born in 2007 actually class of 2026? Ana Barbosu (born 2006) is a college freshman already.
(and I googled their dates of birth and Oprea is actually exactly one year younger than Barbosu - both born July 26).
