I think this is the recruiting year we are going to see the line most starkly drawn between the gymnasts going for the most NIL money opportunity and gymnasts looking to make line-ups and compete in NCAA. It’s crazy that the first official visit weekend saw a program sign 4. I know gymnasts who have LSU official visits scheduled in upcoming weekends….why would they bother?

Schools like LSU will have 20 full scholarship athletes…those that care about actually making lineups and competing will have to be discerning. These next few years will be interesting.

In addition to the LSU commits last night, Nebraska got another unranked gymnast to commit (Hannah Riccio), Penn State got 3 star Kieley Restrepo, and 4 star Ariana Barksdale committed to Florida.

Barksdale had a rough level 10 nationals on bars and beam this year, but won vault and tied for second on floor (junior D). Last year she won vault and floor and finished 2nd AA in Junior B.

Does anyone else find the involved official visit photo shoots to be a lot for recruitment? I know everyone does it but it just always strikes me as so over-the-top.

Does anyone else find the involved official visit photo shoots to be a lot for recruitment? I know everyone does it but it just always strikes me as so over-the-top.

I don't follow NCAA at all, but have popped into some of these commitment threads. I didn't realize at first they were just during visits and not for signing. Some of the photos seem weird for me for someone who hasn't yet signed (all of the throne photos; but those are just weird to me to begin with).
