Glenn is a bit of a headcase. A 3 Axel that the judges didn't even want to glance at for underrotation, then pops a triple loop (?). Poor girl.

Yeah, she interviewed with Andrea Joyce (who I still hate and I hate that NBC still gives her air time) and she said she lost focus which, yeah, seems about right from all I've seen of her skating. So much focus on the 3A, forgets about the rest of the program. She has ADHD so, yeah, tracks. That said, 8 points or so off the podium could be made up if she went balls to the wall in the FS--at least she gets the chance. Poor girl from Canada missed a jump too but didn't have the 3A cushion to get her through and just missed the FS cutoff.

Is it then random once you are in your group of 6?

I don't know when they changed it. I think it may have even been before covid, but it used to be a random draw instead of by rankings. I think I remember Tara Lipinski skating pretty early during the technical program in 1998 and I know for a fact that the free program was a random draw within your group of six based on the results of technical program. Michelle Kwan skated before Tara even though she was first after the technical program. Tara was second to last and Maria Butyrskaya was last.

Slovakia just knocked off Germany in men's hockey to advance to the semi finals. If you told me on February 1 that Slovakia was going to play for a medal, I would have laughed and asked what you were smoking. So very happy for them.

The dog that got onto the cross country course was a star - although one of the skiers said afterwards that she thought she was being chased by a wolf!

Now I'm rooting for the Czech Republic and Slovakia to make it to the finals. The breakup of Czechoslovakia may have been peaceful. But an Olympic hockey final between the two countries won't be.

Having seen the video now (the dog is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog and looks quite happy with his experience) I can definitely see why she might have felt worried about that, especially being focused more on doing well in the race the on the dog's size and body language!

Switzerland is leading Finland 2-0 before end of period 2.

Finland pulled a Canada of their own. Tied it up with 1:12 remaining then won in OT.

Absolutely gutted for both Czechia and Switerland.
