BG keen to bask in the glory of mixed team skeleton gold medallist Tabby Stoecker being a competitive gymnast until she was 11.

The drama around the Canadian curling teams (the women have been similarly accused) might be the most drama in curling, ever.

We decided to take Little Birdie curling over the weekend and he had a blast. I haven't been curling in 20+ years and found I wasn't quite as rusty as I feared.
It might be the most drama involving Canadians ever.

I remember during Sochi, a non Russian journalist wrote an article asking why Russia is not very good at curling, despite being quite good on ice generally. Like there are countries that are good at curling. And there is Russia.

I grew up in Scotland and my maternal grandparents, neither of whom could skate, played seniors league curling having got into the sport in their 50s. As kids, we all skated on Saturday afternoons and during school holidays. But sometimes the queue was so long you had to wait a hour for the next skate session to start!
Nearly everyone had their own skates. The girls all bought different coloured laces or covers for their skates and the boys all wanted the latest hockey skates. All the teenagers went to the ice disco on Saturday nights and there were always rumours about what went on there!
I could name about 20 ice rinks in and around Glasgow in the early 00s but about half have closed down. Thats in addition to the rinks that only do curling.
When I moved to London in my late teens, I realised that this was a completely unique experience within the UK. People will assume that I follow gymnastics and ice sports because I’m Russian. No, it’s because I grew up in Glasgow 😂

Apparently the Canadian men's curling team is getting a reputation for cheating. Sweden and Switzerland have both accused Canada of touching the stone after it is released, which is against the rules.
I don't know how much the touch can actually affect the rocks trajectory, but the guy's reaction was so embarrassing. Swearing at the Swedes and doubling down afterwards about it not being a touch.

The curling federation has some dirt on their hands here as well, as this guy has been doing the double touch in competition pretty regularly and they only just started calling it.

The memes though, they've been an absolute delight.

I think the music the Chinese pairs used was an orchestration of Tears for Fears “Everybody Wants to Rule the Wotld”. Nice costumes! I hope they continue but I think Johnny said China prioritizes singles skaters..
China’s problem is that it doesn’t produce a surplus of singles skaters (yet?) and unlike everyone else, it won’t import a partner for someone and give them citizenship.
