Ice dancing is really pretty but it definitely felt like the fix was in. I am not an expert but I loved the Canadian routine and would have had them winning the fd. Chock and bates next, then the French. And I loved the British couple and was sorry they had troubles. But they won my audience vote.

Wild. The French judge gave the US the lowest score of all the judges and France the highest score of all the judges, with an 8 point difference. None of the other judges went past 4 points difference.

Blatant cheating by the French judge.


Shameful.

Chock and Bates were cheated out of gold.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't have mattered because of the Spanish judge who had the US in third, iirc?

eta: Has anyone calculated what the results would be in the French judge was also removed from the short dance?

Even without the mistake, I don’t think the British couple would have medalled. I enjoy their programme and find it really entertaining but the style they’ve gone for is definitely a risk. Fun isn’t going to score as well. It’s just not an Olympic level dance.

I loved Canada. That was the highlight for me
