I immediately knew what kind of all-around Kristen Maloney was going to have when I saw the outfit
I just did the math because of weed gummy and Maloney's best scores across the events were enough to get her incredibly close to bronze in the AA if she had hit, and that's with her beam never hitting to full potential any of her three attempts.

You go girl!!

Does anyone feel like giving a four year fan a figure skating primer please?
Team event: USA and Japan are front-runners. Bronze is up for grabs.

Men: Ilia Malinin (USA) is the gold medal favorite. Yuma Kagiyama,
Women: Kaori Sakamoto (JPN) and Alysa Liu (USA) are the frontrunners. Mone Chiba (JPN), Isabeau Levito (USA) are medal contenders.
Pairs: Ryuichi & Kihara (JPN), Fabienne Hase & Volodin (GER), Contii & Macii.
Ice Dance: Chock & Bates (USA) are the favorites. Giles & Poirier (CAN), Guinard & Fabbri (ITA), Fear & Gibson (GBR) are medal contenders.

We're watching NBC's primetime broadcast and Mr. Birdie just noted the technical skills of Chock and Bates. "That edge work is incredible." Followed by "this was much more intriguing that I imagined something called ice dancing would be."

I just laughed and said he's clearly had to spend way too many hours at the rink watching Little Birdie doing edge drill during power skating lessons if he's judging the quality of edge work. (Yes, way too many hours!)

I'm on catchup, watching the free ski slopestyle (which is almost as good as the snowboard slopestyle which is my favourite), and the commentators have said that the judges have access to as many replays as they want/need to get the right score and now I'm jealous!
(They're surprisingly quick anyway).

The times in ski racing really are just beyond my comprehension. .04 seconds between first and second, .13 seconds between 3rd and 7th.

In most races you’re head to head, and pools and tracks only vary so much. Ski racing is different every mountain, and then different conditions every day and every run. Maybe it’s just that I’ve never done it, but it is really crazy to me that things are this close when you can’t see your opponent.
