I wish Yang Fanyuwei had a second usable event. It's hard to envison a UB specialist on this year's Worlds team. Early days, though.

I have a 9.1 for her EF bar routine. It was absolutely flawless.

An 8.633 is too harsh imo. We need to reward incredible execution or we will not incentivize anyone to do it.

I watched this earlier today and was shocked at the E-score. What does it take for non-vault events to reach a 9.0+ now?

Yet another example of judges fabricating deductions to get the E-score down into the "expected" range. But, looking at how they possibly got 8.6:

Healy - .1 legs
Layout Jaeger - .1 feet, .3 legs (excessive, the separation isn't that big), .3 amplitude (excessive, but technically per the rules her hips can be considered below bar height before catching)
Downie - .1 feet
Pak - .1 amplitude
Cast handstand - .1 legs (her lower legs/feet are slightly separated very briefly in handstand before perfectly aligning, this should be a 0.05 deduction, if you really need to take it)
Stalder full - .1 angle (there's actually nothing wrong with the angle, but I suppose someone could say they thought it looked past 10 degrees)
Van Leeuwen - .1 amplitude (nothing actually wrong, her shoulders reach bar height, but again maybe sometime can try to say they thought it looked lower)
Cast handstand - .1 alignment or flow (not really, but we are fabricating deductions after all, so you can try to say her legs bent slightly past the hips while getting into handstand or that the overall movement looked a bit labored)

I also had 9.2, but half of it was from the jaeger (that leg separation should be 0.2 but the rule is 0.3). The video was blurry and I felt like I would have missed some leg separations or even flexed feet. I also think the Downie could be hit for catch position. That's stupid, but that's the rules. (especially to @Doug1233 @Aeris )

I'm sure Heath Thorpe is just happy to get his leap into the code at all, especially since FIG turned it down last time because "that stuff is for girls".

Not sure what's up with Hoopes. He was inconsistent early in his NCAA career because of a nagging injury. Hopefully, that has not returned.

It was the straddle jump 1/1 yes. And I agree it did not look fully rotated but wasn’t 100% sure since he jumped straight out of it
