I would hate for Wong to be alternate again

I think vault is fine now with Carey, Chiles, and Blakely (presumably). I'd add Bullock for UB (I also like her on BB and FX quite a bit) and then there's a spot for Rivera for sure.

I'm not convinced Pease won't fall apart over the course of a multi-day event, but I guess we'll see if she makes herself undeniable in some way. I'm sad to say I see Wong being sidelined yet again as alternate. There are wild cards too: Crain, Caylor, Jones, etc. Things will be a lot more interesting on the US team with Carey and Chiles back in elite, especially since they're probably the best two on floor along with Rivera.

Way too early Worlds team prediction:

VT: Chiles, Carey, Blakely (Rivera)
UB: Chiles/Rivera, Blakely, Bullock (Chiles/Rivera)
BB: Chiles, Blakely, Rivera (Bullock)
FX: Rivera, Carey, Chiles (Blakely)

Now that the Crain sisters won't be broken down by GAGE, it'll be interesting to see how WCC cultivates them.

Wong is such a smart, motivated young woman, I don't see why she doesn't take control of her gymnastics and work on routine construction herself. How many times does she need to 1.) be sidelined as alternate and 2.) miss out on a World title before changing something?

With veterans sticking around for much longer, it's harder for the youngbloods to break through but I feel that the standards for the up-and-comers is that much higher due to the veterans. There's no true standout but I think Bullock will be the one to squeeze through on the basis of mainly UB, but potentially BB/FX. If Jones does return to elite, the USA could have a solid UB lineup.

If Jade can reach her best and get her difficulty back, it makes the path for a team harder for Josc, Esponda and maybe even Chiles. Especially if Wong keeps that Cheng.

Chiles is fine. She's a pure AAer by now. Wong's Cheng will keep her in the conversation, but she doesn't bring much to the table for the other three events, sadly. Weird saying that about a two-time World AA medalist, but I just don't see her making the line-ups without big changes.

It's Raisman's comeback negating Skinner all over again but Jade's gymnastics is significantly better than Raisman's and Joscelyn's attitude is significantly better than Skinner's.

Depending on how many other AAers there are, a Cheng score over a y2 could add more to the team total then the bars set. But I am also counting on Shilese returning when I'm thinking of the amount of bars in team contention.

I see things like this about Jones and I'm so excited that she might still have an elite future, even as I grieve what was lost in both of her Olympic cycles. And then I remind myself that she had such a dominant 2022-2023 internationally and that she'll always be remembered for that.
