Beef is a Netflix series. The new season takes place at a private country club, and Suni Lee joins (as herself) to use their spa as she gets ready for the LA Olympics. The whole scene is so cringe but I guess she might be trying to see what's out there in terms of casting opportunities.

Suni always struck me as being too quiet and reserved to be in 'entertainment' (unlike for example Laurie) - I can imangine her being stiff and awkward when 'acting'.

I agree, what I loved about her social media was how shyly she presented herself. She danced so well & the combination made her appealing to watch. But a tv role is quite different.

Ciena Alipio announces her retirement from gymnastics. I assume to shut down any chances of returning to elite? Or was there a chance she could take a 5th year?

I assume she's just publicly processing that her NCAA eligibility is over, and elite isn't an option for her any more.

With careful constructed routines, Jade could also be an AA threat. Let's not forget she did make Tokyo AA finals (with the assist of Biles). She also made 2022 World AA finals (with the assist of Chiles).

She popped up on my YT last week doing a tumbling "Stick it" challenge - the way she was casually throwing double layouts made me think she was likely planning to come back.

Jade Carey will be able to do a double layout at 40, but yes, she clearly sees a space for her on this team and why not capitalize on a third Olympics if you're healthy and competitive? 2017 seniors leading the 2028 Olympic team would be so hilarious to me

Same. I don't strictly dislike her gymnastics, but I really like HER. She's clearly a hard worker, she's a fantastic competitor, and she seems like a really good person. I'm happy to see her coming back, she could be a really good asset to the US team - mature, solid, consistent gymnastics that are also still very competitive score-wise.

Zero surprise there, and she should 100% be a favourite as long as she stays healthy (which she is wont to do).

I think vault is fine now with Carey, Chiles, and Blakely (presumably). I'd add Bullock for UB (I also like her on BB and FX quite a bit) and then there's a spot for Rivera for sure.

I'm not convinced Pease won't fall apart over the course of a multi-day event, but I guess we'll see if she makes herself undeniable in some way. I'm sad to say I see Wong being sidelined yet again as alternate. There are wild cards too: Crain, Caylor, Jones, etc. Things will be a lot more interesting on the US team with Carey and Chiles back in elite, especially since they're probably the best two on floor along with Rivera.

Way too early Worlds team prediction:

VT: Chiles, Carey, Blakely (Rivera)
UB: Chiles/Rivera, Blakely, Bullock (Chiles/Rivera)
BB: Chiles, Blakely, Rivera (Bullock)
FX: Rivera, Carey, Chiles (Blakely)

They will be more concerned about being seen to be fair than they will actually selecting the best team. We should bear that in mind

Do we know if Chiles and Carey are in the testing pool? If i understand correctly, there's a certain amount of lead time required for that.
