I really enjoyed Okamura Mana on beam, lovely work and a charming performance. Japan are fast becoming one of my favourite teams. Beam EF in Baku was more enjoyable than American Cup beam - two gymnasts did backward roll to handstands 😍 (not the only reason!).
Who did it? I love this skill! I absolutely need to see these routines!
Sorry for OT, but this was my favorite BB routine from NLC. Aerial-roundoff acro series, and then aerial roundoff or whatever is it called

With a fan's eyes, not a judge's, that 8.2 E seemed generous. A lot of arching and short handstands. Pretty sloppy, but so early in the season, don't care. But someone with judge eyes, I would be interested in your opinion. Less than optimal camera angle though.
I have a 7.9 E

Which makes the American Cup beam routine scoring even more weird, for me.

What makes it worse is how low the side aerial lands and then she never gets her back straight, probably on purpose, because that would "break" the connection. So it's just totally lethargic.
It is the equivalent to a pike-in to straddle cut being a same-bar flight element on UB. Both are anemic and are in need of a gymnastics transfusion.

Im sorry that is one of the most boring slow and lethargic routines I've ever seen. Hideous acro skills and that should not be a series. Leave the round offs to 10 year olds please. And preferable not even then. If that is the best routine on offer I'm glad I didn't watch.

I think the variety is always nice to see, even if a little more amplitude would've been nice. I think the athlete may've agreed too, given her reaction walking off.
That's exactly what I meant. It was a mistake to share the video in this particular thread, because people obviously didn't realize it was L10 (not elite) routine.
And, for most gymnasts (even L10), acro series with direction change are actually harder than classic one-direction (BHS-LOSO) series.
