I think that section of the Help Desk only applies to UB. See the red zoning to the left of the area you didn't snip.

If it applied to BB and FX, it would be listed in the BB and FX sections. It isn't. And the General Deductions (in the actual COP, not just the Help Desk - which would apply to BB and FX - and not just UB) make clear the 0.8 max only applies to landing deductions.

Based on the WTC examples, a closed ring position with the foot is not needed to avoid body shape deductions on ring elements. However, a closed ring is required for sheep jumps.

WTC logic!

For the E element (with only one foot) you don’t need a closed ring, but for the C element (with both feet) you do!

Only in gymnastics would "ribs out" be considered good posture. But here we are. She does have lovely carriage.

It is absolutely insane. Especially as they took one coach's opinion on good posture (Kiens) and applied it to all of gymnastics.
A couple of years ago (before the ribs out Cop insanity), a judge congratulated me on one of my (very young) gymnast's great posture. She would always have her ribs stick out due to significant lordosis and weak core. It drove me insane but apparently standing pretty on beam mattered more than inability to achieve proper handstanf position and adequate core control. Now here we are...
