Nemour has got to be the most consistent top bar worker ever

Although Nemour has only made one major mistake in 2025 on uneven bars, I was surprised by the number of times she has made a minor error(e.g. crooked or a little off on an element, or broken an intended connection) this year:

Italian Serie A: Didn't Connect Stalder Full and Derwael - Fenton (Kip + Cast Handstand between the elements)

Gymnix, All Around: Didn't connect Ezhova and Stalder Shaposhnikova 1/2 (Stalder between the elements)

Top 12, Event Finals: Didn't connect Ezhova and Stalder Shaposhnikova 1/2 (Kip + Cast to Handstand between the elements)

Cairo World Cup, Qualifications: Didn't connect Ezhova and Stalder Shaposhnikova 1/2 (Kip + Cast to Handstand between the elements)

Tashkent Challenge Cup, Finals: Didn't connect Nemour and Pak Salto (Kip + Cast to Handstand between the elements), Didn't connect Stalder Full and Derwael (Stalder between the elements)

Paris Challenge Cup, Qualifications: Didn't Connect Piked Stalder Full and Nemour (Performed a Piked Stalder between the elements)

Paris Challenge Cup, Finals: Didn't Connect Piked Stalder Full and Nemour (Performed a Piked Stalder between the elements), and Didn't connect Pak Salto and Maloney (Kip + Cast to Handstand between the elements)

Italian National Championships, Qualifications: Fell on Nemour

That said, it is still impressive that Nemour has only counted one fall this year and has the ability to adjust her routine on the fly with minimal additional execution errors, especially considering the overall difficulty of her routine.

After the Paris FX fiasco they really should have brought back the line judges ... could have sworn both of "Putina's" footsies went out of bounds. She must be well used to not seeing her flag and anthem by now.

There's only one thing I don't like about the exercise, and it's the dismount. I don't think that the 0.1 connection bonus is worth it. I'd rather see her do an extra giant and really get some height on the double layout. Her score probably would come out the same — I imagine every judge takes a tenth for the dismount, no?

Nemour's dismount always gets .3 at minimum - height, leg separation, pike. But when you can even get deducted on a giant before the dismount and trying for more amplitude makes it more likely to have a landing error, it makes sense what she does, if for some reason she just doesn't like the full twisting double tuck. I think she could potentially score better with a Mukhina but apparently that skill box is invisible to everyone except Elze Guerts.

The bigger evolution she could do in her routine is catching the Nemour in mixed grip and changing the Ricna-mixgrip to a Downie (or change to a Downie-mixgrip). Increases her D by .2 and also might get her an extra .1 in execution, because the Ricna stupidly gets deducted if you don't bring your legs together after doing the stalder (which is uglier and distracting, compared to maintaining the straddle position throughout, sigh).

If she did that routine in qualification, should would have qualified to the beam final in 4th! How frustrating.

One day she will make a major final.

Really happy to see Zhang in third. Less happy about Melnikova winning than I was in 2021. But I do still enjoy her gymnastics.

I am a huge fan of Melnikova and I can still believe that some of the scores were ridiculous lol. I would've been happy with Wong winning because of hitting 4-for-4, but Melnikova is the best gymnast competing this season, full stop. Still laughing so hard that it was another Melnikova/Wong showdown four years later. What a world. So insanely random yet so right.

I just read this thread in full finally because I had to wait to watch on replay and then was busy with work. Love you all, the level of discourse here about this sport is just absolutely unparalleled.

Happy about Melnikova win - I love Russian gymnastics and Gelya has always been my favourite Commie Ice Queen..

Leanne has always annoyed me - she's 22 years old ffs and wears bows in her hair like a 6 year old. This isn't cute and is worth at least -0.3

Great results for the GB girlies. I forget how young they are - 2 or 3 years and they will be right up there.
