Spain's prospects for teams finals look good this quad, with Font and Petisco. Will be good to see them back.

So when people are talking about Melnikova's better fx E score - between 0.1-0.8 could have come from artistry?

It's one thing that frustrates me about Wong's current fx - she lands her first pass at around 17/18 seconds and then stays in that same corner until 39 secs doing "choreo" (mostly arm waves/poses) before pass 2. It just seems like a wasted opportunity

My guess is that not all of the judges saw it that way. Some of them may have felt it was very start/stop... disconnected. I had to remind myself to see it the way it was intended.

Crazy the exact same thing happened again, 4 years later. Leanne Wong should be 2x World AA Champion. Again was underscored on bars (less egregiously than in 2021 where she did an incredibly clean routine, but enough that it again made the difference) while Melnikova simultaneously gets some gifts.

I believe she was also the only gymnast to hit all 8 routines!

I know I spotted it because I recently took up tai chi. So it might require a bit of understanding what is actually martial-arts inspired. Some of the moves did flow, too, though.
