Agreed. This would've been the year to send Hang out to a major competition and see how she does. This isn't even a hindsight is 20/20 thing; foresight should've told TPTB that Roberson wasn't going to make it through to EFs without a lot of help from falls and mistakes.

I'm just enjoying the ride with Dulcy. She completely made her own opportunities here and is absolutely making the most of it. No one's expectations for her mattered, she just kept doing better

I was not expecting China to be this bad. Especially when they went in knowing that USA hadn’t had a great day and Russia qualified no one on beam and floor. Hopefully they will get 2 into bars final

They only had one miss on BB? Which was expected, she was struggling in training all week.

Zhang Qingying is the only gymnast on FX and she just did it for AA. I don't know how Russia not qualifying anyone on FX was going to magically make her do better on an event she was never going to make the final in.

They only have Zhang Qingying and Yang Fanyuwei doing UB. ZQY isn't an UB girl. I'll be thrilled if she somehow makes the final but it's certainly not what she's here for.

They didn't plan to put up 3 on any event. Just 7 routines total for quals. Of the 5 done so far they are 1st and 2nd in two finals.
