That's SUCH a STUPID FUCKING RULE.

First of all, why is there no piked version to downgrade it to? So you bend your hips a bit and it's a loss not only of 0.5 in the E-score but also a loss of about 0.6 for the element (compared to an A they sub in)? That's not ACTUALLY a large error. It should be a 0.1 or 0.2 downgrade. or a 0.1 or max 0.3 deduction. THAT'S IT.

I am not a violent person, but even I want to punch the face of the fucking moron who created that rule. Because that is a REALLY stupid person.

I AM FURIOUS. And I don't care who it happened to — NO gymnast should be treated like this.

Andrew Tombs is the new (British) president of the men's technical committee, and he needs to be HELD RESPONSIBLE — publicly taken to task for this incompetence at writing rules — and disrespect of gymnasts.

It's not often that a score at Worlds outscores the NCAA scores for the same routines.

I don’t follow MAG closely enough to understand all the context around this, but it seems incredibly unreasonable to post a rule change (because this doesn’t seem like a clarification) a month before Worlds. There were no test events for athletes to try technique changes or revised composition, or for judges to try out the new rule. Couldn’t this have been delayed until 2026, if it wasn’t important enough to “clarify” before the World Cups or continental meets?
