UCLA with another 197.550
Putting up some good numbers after week 1 issue.
Also Jordan Chiles with a 10.00 on bars.

Making the turn to the first quarter of the season, the rust is off, and for some that have finished their 3rd or even 4th meet(?), the realization of a long season has to be settling in.

Week 3 vibes:

Just as we planned, all good: OU, LSU (PMac scoring for the win!)
We can be pretty good: UCLA (Thank you B10 scoring welcome committee), UF, Kentucky, Mich State, Cal
Solid, maybe not spectacular: Mizzou
Genuine concern: Michigan, Arkansas, Utah
Mild concern: Alabama
Not quite ready to fly but positive trending: Auburn, Georgia
Just keep ignoring us..... Oregon State
You better be locked in against us: Denver

Overall OU and LSU still look the part, but they did look perhaps a bit more human. A bit surprised that Florida kept things so close at the PMac. As expected some impossible scores for LSU pushed them to win. UCLA was given some gifts in their B10 debut, but overall, it was a solid meet for them and good to see them put back to back strong performances. I still have not been able to see Oregon State compete, but their scores and those that have, speak like they are doing something in Jade's final season. Utah has got to be bummed/concerned with Neff injury we will see as reports come out. The team I am surprised with is Kentucky. I really thought losing Reina, Bunn and Arriana would give them a slide back, but they have a nice mix of upper and lower classmen that have been performing excellent so far. They probably have the most front entry vault line-up of any college squad.

Stanford was also impressive this week going 197.025, for a team that usually struggles in the beginning of the season, they are doing great to start. They are ranked 15th.

Additionally, keep you eye on Arizona. They beat Air Force with a 196.100 came 2nd to Michigan at the Sprouts Meet (and would have won if not for that FX rotation-which they seemed to have figured out now) and won the quad meet their first meeting out. Currently ranked 21st. Look for them to challenge for a top 16 spot and seed this year. It's one of their best teams probably since the early 2000s.

Oregon State is in the top 10: 9th after a massive 197.600 against SJSU in Corvallis. Jade Carey went 39.800 in the AA with 9.975s on bars and beam.

Most improved so far goes to Pitt. Ranked 25th so far (no NQS yet) but definitely in contention to make regionals as a full team- which was the athletic department's goal when hiring Casey Jo Magee to take over as head coach. Only 2 meets so far this year, but compared to 2024, the team is scoring 2 full point higher than their first two meets in 2024. They are looking very good and at the very least will be competitive in the ACC and look to be in the hunt to fight for the top 36, and potentially be in the mix to make regionals and avoid play in meets.
