Back to gymnastics, GW survived bars and is on pace for a 196. Penn State and Maryland also on pace for 196. Towson is not after a poor vault rotation.

GW had a total meltdown on beam. Counting multiple falls. A real shame after hitting vault and bars, and the ones who hit beam all went 9.8+.

I can't even express how proud I am of Missouri. Several of my favorite NCAA gymnasts have been Tigers. They were my underdog favorites for a long time, and over the past few years they have worked their way up to being one of the best teams. I've been an Auburn fan for years, too, and I am proud of their fight today. They did a great job picking themselves up and moving on after a really rough first rotation. I hope to see them in SECs.

With Penn State and Clemson’s mid 196 scores at GW, Illinois now drops out of the top 28.
There’s been a lot of movement, both in seeded ranks and unseeded, just this one weekend. The next two weekends will be intense.

I think Arkansas is still on the outside. All weekend has been absolute silly season scoring in the SEC.

Bama would have gone 197+ with one more “normal” floor set. Even so, their lowest counting away score was so low that a missed opportunity today still moves them back ahead of Auburn.

OU making some slight changes in lineups. Sievers in on floor, Pederson out. Siegfeldt in on beam, Wells out.
I just wish Scheible was healthy this season, there were some spots I thought she could have filled 😔
Just wondering if the NCAA coaches can change lineups during meet? Like, was Pederson supposed to do AA but after her not-so-great UB and BB performances, her coach decided to take her out of floor lineup, is that possible?

Yes, coaches can make changes up till the first competitor goes. Auburn is well known to have 8 girls warm up for the event and decide the line-ups based upon the warm-up.

They can - KJ does it all the time with Audrey Davis on Vault. She will name her and then replace her if the 5 before are all decent scores.

In this case, Dani was slated to be back on floor this meet a few weeks ago so the decision was likely made during the week.

Now I am confused. @cuuf said they can change lineup until the first competitor goes, now you say they can change the lineup even after 5 of the team members already competed the event?

I think it's that they cant change the order of the lineup once the first person goes but you can replace someone from the lineup entirely.

I.e. You cant move Sarah from 3rd to 5th once the rotation has started but you can take her out and have Jane vault instead in the 3rd spot.

Judge uniform question: Is it allowed for a judge to take off the jacket and just have a short sleeve shirt on? See the “guns out” judge in the following meet.

WVU at Pittsburgh was scored more like it’s 2024, not 2025, and therefore both teams scored season highs. That’s been the main takeaway for judging this season: If you’re ranked below like 20th place, a lot of your 9.85 routines are now scored at 9.75 with similar execution to last season.

That’s not a terrible outcome because we do get separation in rankings, but of course it would be nice if the top 8 programs also routinely saw deserved 9.7’s for routines that would have gone 9.8+ last season.

Man, the Big Ten teams must see that scoring and think "where the hell was that at the Big Fours?!?!"
